Paris: From gruesome gargoyles to Louis XV's pet rhinoceros - how to keep children entertained in the French capital
Travel

The arguments began long before we left home. Madeleine, 14, wanted to go clothes-shopping. Aurelia, eight, wanted to see animals. And Heloise, 12, wanted to do whatever her sisters didn't want to do. We were off to Paris and everyone had different ideas as to what we should visit.

That's a record worthy of note, particularly if you've got small children in tow.

In fact, it's a resort - or rather five resorts - that's perfect for kids. The whole feel is somewhat Toytownish by comparison with France or Switzerland, and the slopes wouldn't challenge the good intermediate skier.
